Felicity Hammond’s luminous work World Capital is a visual proposition, conjuring up J.G. Ballards literary visions of London. The work takes us on a rollercoaster of architectural concepts that careens between satire and premonition.
+ About the artist
Felicity Hammond is an artist based in London who has garnered international attention for her installation-based photography work. She has worked with major institutions including Tate Modern, The Whitechapel Gallery and The Saatchi Gallery, and her work is held in international collections. Her first institutional solo exhibition Remains in Development took place in 2020/2021 at C/O Berlin and Kunsthal Extra City Antwerp.
She has exhibited her work in international group exhibitions at museums and galleries including Fotomuseum Winterthur, VOX Centre de l’image Contemporaine Montreal and Higher Pictures New York.
Hammond has created a number of high profile public art works, including a 30 metre site-specific work for Photo 2021 Melbourne, Australia and a large-scale installation for Colchester and Ipswich Museum, UK.
Hammond’s work has been awarded the Lumen Art Prize (2018) and FOAM Talent (2016). Her experimental monograph PROPERTY is published by SPBH.
