+ About the work
Yushi Li: “For me photography is a powerful tool for observing the male representation as an erotic subject. The Dream of the Fisherwoman is inspired by the Japanese painter Hokusai's work The Dream of the Fisherman’s Wife. By referencing certain artworks in art history, I use photography to construct my fantasies about men and examine established ways of staging eroticism."
