Margarita Gluzberg’s sphere, a black and white photograph of one of her drawings, with each print in the edition individually hand tinted using pencils made in Eastern Europe in the 1950s, proposes a kind of time travel through the photographic lens, and the resurrection of materials from another era.

Margarita Gluzberg's current practice is centred in drawing but has in the past expanded into many other mediums – from sound installation to performance and slide projection. Her solo projects include: 100nhsrooms with Vitalarts, 2020; In Paradise, Pushkin House, London, 2019; For Children Not For Children, Filet Space, London, 2018. He ongoing sound work ‘Actual Song of a Canary Bird’ was commissioned by Artangel in 2020 (as part of Slow Dans events programme), and her Wellcome Trust project ‘Rock On Bones’ was performed at venues such as the De La Warr Pavillion and the Royal College of Art.
Margarita Gluzberg’s work is held in many collections and exists in the form of several major private commissions. She studied at Ruskin School of Art, Oxford University and Royal College of Art, and is currently Senior Lecturer at the Royal Academy Schools, London.
